"If I can soften the edges of someone else’s pain, I have honoured his memory."
This #NationalVolunteerWeek, we’re proud to highlight Donna, a trained volunteer Crisis Responder with Kids Help Phone for the past 7 years. Her heartfelt commitment comes from a deeply personal journey of supporting her brother through his experience with depression. Today, Donna dedicates her time to providing a safe space for others navigating their own mental health challenges. Her empathy and dedication show the powerful impact volunteers have in fostering hope and resilience. We are grateful for everything she brings to Kids Help Phone.
“This has been the most difficult volunteer role I’ve ever had — but by far the most rewarding.”
In honour of #NationalVolunteerWeek, we’re proud to share more from Donna, a longtime volunteer Crisis Responder at Kids Help Phone. From supporting texters to mentoring new responders, Donna continues to create space for connection, confidence and care.
We’re grateful for the heart and dedication she brings to our community and to youth across Canada.
“Joining the National Youth Council has been an integral step for me in getting involved in advocacy — and helping youth like me get access to the services they need.”
This #NationalVolunteerWeek, we’re proud to highlight Anjana, a dedicated member of our National Youth Council. For Anjana, growing up knowing that Kids Help Phone was there made a lasting impact. Motivated by her own experiences, those of her peers and her community, she joined the National Youth Council to help advance critical mental health support for young people across Canada.
We’re grateful for everything Anjana brings to the council — and to youth across the country.
"I joined the National Youth Council for Kids Help Phone because it just didn’t make sense not to. Especially in this climate where young people all over the country are experiencing mental health issues and are unable to seek the resources that are necessary for their growth or aren’t able to find peers with whom to speak."
This #NationalVolunteerWeek, we’re proud to highlight Might, a dedicated member of our National Youth Council. As part of the council, Might works to influence important decisions, raise awareness and help develop programs that make a real difference in the lives of young people.
We are so grateful for Might’s dedication, passion and the incredible impact they’re making in advocating for better mental health support for youth across Canada.
